Casper Ravn-Sørensen

Casper Ravn-Sørensen is CEO and one of the founders of Dotcom Capital.

He established his first business in 2007 at the age of 20. Since then, he has founded and invested in half a dozen startup companies with an emphasis on online marketing, digital media and performance marketing.

As a serial entrepreneur and angel investor, Casper Ravn-Sørensen is always on the lookout for promising upstarts looking for seed funding.

His great wealth of experience makes him the ideal investor for companies that already have a well-defined business model and are generating income – but lack either the funding or know-how on how to take their business to the next level.

As an investor and entrepreneur

»I’m not interested in investing in mature companies that are already generating large amounts of profits, and maybe even gone international.«

Instead, he prefers to invest in businesses, where his investment can make a difference.

»In mature companies, we’re already too late. They usually have multiple owners, and too many people are involved for us to make necessary sweeping improvements,« says Casper.

But that’s not the only factor that can make or break an investment for Casper Ravn-Sørensen.

»I don’t invest in teams where their commitment can, in any way, be doubted. That might sound like a banal point, but I often see founders who have exceedingly high expectations for their salary, even if the results don’t yet justify that expense. That’s putting the cart before the wheels.I also often see that they lack the commitment to work nights or weekends. In the beginning, speed and presence are alpha and omega for startups.«

There’s one last thing that makes Casper hesitant to invest.

»It’s a dealbreaker for me, whether or not the business can go international. It’s a waste of our focus if the business owners don’t share that desire or commitment.«
